Our Heritage
The journey of Tunday Kababi began over a century ago in the historic lanes of old Lucknow, when Haji Murad Ali, affectionately known as Tunday Miyan, introduced a culinary masterpiece to the world. What started as a humble stall soon became a living legend of Awadhi cuisine—where every kebab carried the fragrance of rare spices and the warmth of royal tradition.
Passed down through generations, the recipe remains a closely guarded family treasure—unchanged, unhurried, and unmatched. Each bite still tells the story of craftsmanship, devotion, and the timeless heritage of Lucknow.
Today, Tunday Kababi stands not merely as a restaurant, but as a legacy—a bridge between the grandeur of the Nawabi era and the hearts of those who still believe that true flavour never fades.
The Legend of the Kabab
It began in the royal kitchens of Awadh when a toothless Nawab demanded a kebab that melted like silk in the mouth. Murad Ali answered the call. He blended rare aromatic spices, perfected charcoal heat, and served up a version of the Galouti Kebab so soft, so flavour-packed, it became the signature of Tunday Kababi.
From Chowk to Global
What started as a humble stall in Lucknow’s bustling alleys (the famed Chowk) blossomed into a culinary landmark. Locals, food lovers, celebrities—they all came for the magic. And even today, centuries later, that very legacy lives on—uncompromised, undiluted.
Our Promise
For three generations, the family behind Tunday Kababi has guarded the craft: no shortcuts, no compromise. Recipes whispered, not printed. Spices measured with intuition, not machines. One bite here isn’t just flavour—it’s history. It’s legacy. It’s Lucknow on a plate.
